Thanks’Giving’ Project at Health Center Supports Local Community

ThanksGiving Tree in Sherman College Health Center

This year, the Chiropractic Health Center put a spin on the Thanksgiving season by emphasizing “giving.” Patients, interns and college employees collected product donations for two local nonprofit organizations that support the Spartanburg community. Health Center patients making donations received a coupon for a free future visit.

The Health Center collected toothpaste for the pantry of the Upstate Family Resource Center and feminine products for the Homeless Period Project. The Upstate Family Resource Center provides educational opportunities, engaging activities and support services that help families thrive in nearby Spartanburg School District 2. The Homeless Period Project provides sanitary products to women and girls; this group also strives to educate, bring awareness and end the stigma of menstruation in our society.

In keeping with the week of Thanks’Giving’, the Health Center also placed a Thankful Tree in the Health Center lobby and invited patients and the college community to add leaves to the tree, sharing what they were thankful for this season.

The Chiropractic Health Center provides affordable, high quality patient care to the local community via roughly 35,000 visits each year. The facility also partners with several local nonprofits to improve access to health care and positively impact the health of the Spartanburg community.
