What do you do to stay connected to Sherman College now? We stay connected by being part of the alumni association, participating as ROAR (Reach Out and Recruit) doctors, and attending Lyceum. We also really enjoy connecting with the college, former instructors, classmates, and colleagues on Facebook.
Most Memorable Classmate: Breanna: My most memorable classmate is my bestie, Rocco Crapis. Barry: My most memorable was my roommate, Sean Stewart.
Favorite Sherman College Instructor: It is so hard to choose just one instructor, because there are so many amazing instructors at Sherman. Some highlights include Dr. Dooley, Dr. Fordree, and Dr. Ron. We both also enjoyed Dr. Tom Kolarik and Dr. Sarah Stephens as our case doctors in the clinic. We also have much gratitude for Dr. Seay and Dr. Power as our student clinic case doctors. As you can see, it was so hard to pick just one. we loved the personal relationships we had with so many of our instructors and appreciated how much they cared for us.
Favorite Memory: Breanna: My favorite memory was the clinic challenge. It was an entire day of team building before my class entered the clinic and it was so much fun. I loved that Sherman College went out of its way to plan fun events like that for us. Barry: Hanging out with my classmates in the ready room. I loved the camaraderie that the environment allowed and getting closer and learning from the other interns and my case doctors.
Favorite Lyceum Memory: We love getting to see our friends and reconnect at Lyceum.
Breanna: My first year at Lyceum was the “Kentucky Derby” theme and I raced against the other students riding stick horses. Fast forward 8 years and I was speaking alongside the president and vice president in a philosophy session.
Barry: My last Lyceum as a student was special because I asked my father-in-law for my wife’s hand in marriage. At our most recent Lyceum I was able to bring our 1-year-old daughter to campus and see her play where we used to learn.
What have been Sherman’s best upgrades? Since we were students, the entire campus has been changed and updated. We love to see the updates both in technology and amenities, and we are so envious that now graduation ceremonies take place at the school!
What would you like to see for Sherman College in the next 50 years? We would like to see Sherman College continue to lead our profession in all areas of chiropractic: philosophy, science, and art. We also love being ROAR doctors and recommending students to explore Sherman College where we know they will get the best of all three. Finally, we would love to see one of our children become a graduate as well.
