Alumni of the Week: Kelvin Ng

Alumni of the week Dr. Kelvin Ng, Class of 2009

Graduation Year: 2009

Current Location: Singapore

Years in Practice: 13

How do you stay connected to Sherman College? I am a current Regent and ROAR member at Sherman. To date, I have referred six of my patients to Sherman, and five of them have already graduated and begun practicing in Singapore.

Most Memorable Classmate: Chip Jones – he was my study buddy.

Favorite Sherman College Instructor: Dr. Bill Decken because he is such a great role model for all of us.

Fun Memory: I am from Singapore (an independent country), and one of my classmates kept thinking that Singapore is part of Japan. Even when we were about to graduate, he continued to ask me if I am going back to Japan. I thought that was quite funny, and I teased him during my class address at graduation!

Favorite Lyceum Memory: I was awarded the Career Advisor of the Year Award in 2013 and was able to meet up with three of my patients who were still studying at Sherman.

What has been the best improvement to Sherman?  The use of iPad and lessons going digital – we used to have to purchase notes before every quarter started.

What would you like to see for Sherman College? Hopefully, we can have an option of attending Lyceum/seminars online, be it live or recorded, for docs like us who are outside the US, so that we can continue to attend and learn without having to travel too far.
