Sherman College Presents Hastings Honorary DC Humanities
Chiropractic advocate Miguel Hastings has been awarded the honorary Doctor of Chiropractic Humanities degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic, a rare honor given by the college to noteworthy individuals. The degree was presented during Sherman College’s 126th Commencement Ceremony on December 13.
Recipients of the Honorary Doctor of Chiropractic Humanities degree have influenced, initiated and/or carried out specific humanitarian/philanthropic activities that have significantly contributed to or influenced the chiropractic profession and/or humanity-at-large. Sherman President Edwin Cordero, D.C., reviewed Hastings’ accomplishments and approved his recommendation earlier this year.
Hastings began his journey as a student at Life University in 1994. His education was interrupted as he served in the Caribbean as an ambassador not only for the college but for the profession. He has been instrumental in recruiting students in the region thereby facilitating the spread of chiropractic in the Caribbean and also in assisting the various associations and governments in helping to establish chiropractic legislation.
