Lyndhurst, NJ, chiropractor Robert Tarantino recently received the Service to Sherman College Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic in appreciation of his contributions, time and commitment to growing the chiropractic profession. The Service to Sherman College Award is given to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary, unselfish and noteworthy service to Sherman College.
“Dr. Tarantino is an inspiration to fellow chiropractors and also his patients,” said Sherman College President Edwin Cordero, D.C. “It is because of Dr. Tarantino that Sherman College now has The John Yglesias Scholarship. This scholarship was established with an estate gift from one of his patients and made possible because Dr. Tarantino shares his passion for chiropractic with everyone that he cares for. This gift is fully endowed and will provide scholarships to Sherman students in perpetuity.”
Dr. Tarantino is a practicing chiropractor in Lyndhurst, NJ, and a member of the college’s Board of Regents, a group dedicated to supporting quality chiropractic education through financial donations and leadership. He is a graduate of the Chiropractic Institute of New York in 1967 and is active both in his community and within the chiropractic profession at the local, state and national level.
He is an accomplished lecturer on the philosophy of chiropractic and a leader in profession, having served on the New Jersey Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the Board of Directors of the Council of New Jersey Chiropractors, the Garden State Chiropractic Society and New Beginnings, to name a few.
Sherman College named its 2015 award recipients April 30-May 2 as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held on the college’s campus in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs.
