Ernest F. Landi, D.C., a longtime Sherman College supporter and chiropractic champion, passed away on December 22, 2018, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons, Adam and Eric; daughter, Jill, and grandchildren, Jake and Emma. Services were held at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel in Paramus, NJ.

A 1968 graduate of Columbia Institute of Chiropractic, Dr. Landi practiced for five decades, serving patients in Rockland County and surrounding areas, while remaining committed to increasing awareness about his profession. His son, Eric Landi, D.C., partnered with his father in their shared practice for more than five years.

Dr. Ernie Landi’s friend, Sherman College Regent Robert Tarantino, D.C., remembers his colleague well. “Dr. Landi cared deeply about the profession and was dedicated to Sherman College’s advancement,” said Dr. Tarantino. “He was passionate about his family, his patients, and his profession, and he will be greatly missed.” Dr. Tarantino is leading an effort to honor Landi through donations to Sherman College in his memory; see details below for how to contribute to this memorial gift.

As a lifetime Sherman College Regent and as a Reach Out And Recruit (ROAR) member, Dr. Landi was dedicated to his profession and committed to its expansion, often counseling prospective students regarding a career in chiropractic and referring many of them to Sherman College over the course of his career.

A presenter at numerous chiropractic seminars, Dr. Landi lectured across the U.S. and Canada. He authored several articles on chiropractic philosophy and in 1995 received a Philosopher of Chiropractic (Ph.C.) degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Landi was founder and first vice president of the Chiropractic Institute of Thermography. He was active with the Academy of Clinical Applied Spinal Biochemical Engineering and served as its president and as a member of its Board of Examiners. He also served as president of the Straight Chiropractic Council of New York. Read Landi’s full obituary.
