We ADAPTED... and the kids loved it!
On April 8th, the Spartanburg weather forecast called for 100% chance of rain. Being the day before Easter, that meant many egg hunts around town were being cancelled. In an effort to serve our community, Sherman College moved our egg hunt indoors without hesitation and did what the body is designed to do - ADAPT. Students, faculty, staff and our awesome maintenance crew kicked it into high gear to still make the event a memorable experience for all who participated.
Not sure what to expect or how it would go, volunteers waited for participants after hiding over 4,000 eggs in the Gelardi Student Center event space. Before they knew it, families started to show up with buckets in hand and huge smiles on their faces. As an extra treat, the kids were also surprised with visits from our special guests, the Easter Bunny and Sherman College's mascot, Larry the Lion.
Although weather changed our plans this year, we're committed to showing up for our community and we look forward to our next event! |
