Interns Join the Health Center
Newly Pinned Summer 2023 Intern Class
Twenty-one interns are now ready to serve the community and see patients at the Sherman College Chiropractic Health Center, a teaching clinic for senior students in their final stage of internship before graduation from the doctor of chiropractic program.
Interns celebrated the entrance of this final phase of their chiropractic education on July 21st during a pinning ceremony on the Sherman College campus, located at 2020 Springfield Road in Spartanburg.
Alex is a 1st quarter student from Greensboro, North Carolina. Here's what he had to say when we caught up with him on his first day of chiropractic school.
1. Why did you choose Sherman College? Once I decided that chiropractic was my career path, I visited the campus because it was the closest school to home. Once here, I was immediately drawn to Sherman because of the overwhelming sense of community. I knew that during my time here, I would have the support I need to succeed.
2. What are you looking forward to outside the classroom? I want to make as many connections as possible and am excited to get involved in any way I can. I'm looking forward to joining some student organizations and clubs.
3. What classes in the curriculum are you most excited about? I think my favorite courses will be anatomy and spinal biodynamics. I have a background working as a corrective exercise specialist, so I'm excited to utilize and expand on what I already know.
